Sanam Shetty is an Indian film actress and model. She is a qualified software engineer, who worked with an IT company in the UK, before she stepped into the film industry.

Career

Sanam is from Bangalore. Her father is from Karnataka and mother is from Andhra Pradesh and she is fluent in both Kannada and Telugu. She was working with a software firm until 2011. She used to work in a software company in UK and had done a bit of modeling during her college days. She was also modelling as she was working. While in the UK, she received offers to act in films, but did not pursue it. But she took a break from her job, and landed in Chennai to test acting.

Sanam's first film was Ambuli, an experimental film, which was also the first stereoscopic Tamil film, with actor-director R. Parthiepan, after which she did Cinema Company in Malayalam. She decided to stay in films and quit her job in the UK. She next shot for the Malayalam film, Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus in which she was paired opposite Megastar Mammootty.

Sanam Shetty is set to make her debut in Telugu films with her film Intinta Anamayya. She plays an NRI rock star with a very modern outlook in the film. In Tamil she will be seen playing the lead in Kalaivendhan, directed by Parasuram and starring Ajay Rohan. She plays a dual role in it. Her other upcoming release is Ravu directed by Ajith Ravi Pegasus. She also signed director Aabavanan's next film, a heroine-oriented action film in which Sanam plays a Black Belt Kung Fu expert. In 2014, she has signed two more Tamil films Katham Katham and Vilasam in which she will be seen in a "de-glam" role as a college girl.
